Biggest Morning Tea

Well our B.M.T's are over for another year. It was great to see so many of our regular customers and friends joining in and welcoming some new ones. We even had Lesley come from Northcote, thank you. Once again with the help of so many we were able to raise quite a significant contribution for Cancer research. The girls had a great time catching up with friends, sharing stories whilst we kept them busy making a scissor keeper. I wonder what project we will come up with next year!! Thank you to everyone who supplied us with delicious home baked cakes and biscuits and to everyone who supported us and more importantly Cancer Research.

We're still here....

It's been a couple of weeks since our last post.   On the home front I have my mum staying with us for a few weeks.  Her health is not the best but we are coping.  I have been without my laptop for a week as it went in for repairs, turns out it was only a new battery but I felt like part of me was missing.  Of course this has all been happening since Mother's Day as we have been frantically busy with lots of new fabric arriving, having our trade table at Quilts Plus Exhibition in Ringwood and getting kits ready for our fundraiser for The Biggest Morning Tea.  We are in the middle of our 7 sessions for the BMT with Lesley leading groups through their project.  We will have more on that soon. Well I'm off to shop. Back soon. Cheers Sandra 

MOTHER'S DAY

Hello, to all you wonderful mother's and grandmothers. What a beautiful day to celebrate this special time of the year. Sandra & I were both looking forward to a relaxing day after a busy week getting ready for the Quilts Plus Exhibition.
Hope you all got to spend some quality time with your families, doing what you love to do most. and getting spoiled with chocolates, flowers etc.,
I had a lovely morning at my little families place, my son cooked brunch for us and took care of the dishes, while I played with my beautiful granddaughter. I haven't seen her since Anzac Day (not long you say) but I get withdrawal symptons if I don't see her once a week. My own mum is staying with my youngest brother for a while and my other brother & his wife were cooking lunch for her, she will enjoy that. (I hope)

Congratulations to Meri D. from Sandra and myself for being the lucky receipent of the Mother's Day basket.
Now Aiden, the buttons may not be your colour choice, they'll be too "sissy" for you but have fun with them anyway.

QUILTS PLUS EXHIBITION

We are delighted that Foothills Fabric & Threads along with Marg & Linda from Missy Moo's of Croydon have been invited to have Trading Tables at this wonderful Quilt Exhibition organised by Linda Akehurst of The Patchwork Studio in Ringwood.

WIP........

Janet popped into the shop yesterday with her Friendship's Garden Quilt.  I was thrilled to see Janet's work in progress.  Thursday is my day off so I miss out on show and tell from that class. I love Janet's choice of colours and can't wait to see how your swag borders turn out.

Thought this might be of interest to the locals.  Staff at the Royal Womens' Hospital who are patchworkers and quilters are having an exhibition of their quilts to raise money towards purchasing equipment to help those women who find themselves inpatients for beween 4-20 weeks to ensure that the babies are born with the best chance of survival.
