GIFTS FROM OVERSEAS

Had a visit from Willy today one of our good friends, back from her holidays overseas, it was great to catch up with her as she had been away since August. Willy and Sandra had many travel experiences to swap, she also brought back a gift for both of us a cute little Snowman from Holland, & here is a picture of a wonderful Snowman kit from Sandra all the way from Italy I can't wait to put them together, and add them to my growing collection. Good to be back.....

Hi everyone, once again a short post, too much to say and do and so little time.  I sound just like I did before I went away.  I had a fantastic time in Italy with Amelia.  My cousins absolutely spoilt us and our bus tour was fabulous as well but it is soooo nice so be home.  Oh well back to reality.  I’ve been easing my way back into work at the shop it’s been fun discovering new fabrics on the shelves and patterns especially some new ones Lesley bought back with her from Bowral. We have a busy month ahead so I will have to resist temptation and not get sidetracked. Back again soon.  Hugs Sandra

Quilts in the Barn

After a very hectic Saturday at the shop,( Lesley Coleman was teaching her Key to Christmas Santa and then a bus full of quilters from Sunbury later) it was so good to live Sunday at a more sedate pace.  We drove to Wonga Park to visit a Quilt Exhibition featuring  designer and teacher Michelle Yeo.  Each time Michelle comes to the shop to teach we  always browse through her catalogue of quilts and choose one to advertise in our class list.  I had no idea how many beautiful quilts she has designed and produced over the years.  She is certainly one talented lady.  Among my favourites are "Star of Bethelem" (of which I'm still making) "Georgetown Circle" "Shadow Star" and a lovely new one featuring a starburst, with reds, dark blues, orange etc, it's quite dramatic.  I came home feeling quite inspired to get on with my "State of Grace" quilt I was making at Bowral, it's nearly finished and I'm quite happy with it. Postcard..

Hi everyone,

At long last I received a post card from Sandra during the week, took 2 weeks to get here.  She is having a busy but wonderful holiday.  We'll hear all about it when she returns.

In the meantime it's business as usual at the shop. I had a few deliveries during the week, patterns from Libby Richardson from Artsmart the lovely Silent Night wall hanging and a new one a gorgeous pre-printed Christmas Tree Stitchery with Teddies decorating the tree, you will love this one.

A new fabric range "Sweet Melody" from Beth Brushke, pretty pinks and greens with a colourful bouquet on the feature fabric.

A new sample quilt of "Light of the Moon" from Leanne's House has been made using the beautiful "Barefoot Roses" range from Free Spirit (the girls were busy while I was away). 

Speaking of Leanne It looks like her "Butterfly Garden" will be another winner.  Talk soon Lesley

Home is....

I had a nice surprise yesterday with Rosalie dropping by for a chat and was feeling very privledged to see her beautiful new quilt "Home is where the heart resides".  Rosalie had just picked up her quilt from Melinda of Around the Block Quilting, who has quilted it beautifully.  Rosalie was kind enough to let us show off the quilt for a little while until she needs it for her trip to Houston.  Hope you and Melly have a super time and sell heaps. Soo...Busy

I've been so busy on coming back to the shop last week, mostly catching up with orders, class bookings, boring business things, & new fabric,  there must be alot coming soon as some of it was due in Sept.,. and hasn't arived yet.  Everyone is looking forward to the antique Look & Learn and Decadent Victorian.  We have some Madiera, by The Blackbird Designs, the Jelly Rolls went very quickly only a couple left.  Some lovely redwork Christmas Stockings and Santa quilt hangers .

We managed to catch up with my family on Grand Final Day.  I hadn't seen them for a month that was Hayley's birthday, she is doing alot more now, a couple of teeth, and shuffling along on her bottom.  It was so good to relax and play with her and read her a story.

Not much more to say at the moment, there is a couple of adjustments to the Newsletter I will save that for tomorrow.
