and it's not over yet. The mad scramble to get ready for AQC continues whilst our normal class and shop routine goes on. We started off the week with our regular SBS get together. Rose from Tasmania and Anne Ida from Norway joined us for a couple of hours. Willy also took the day off work and we had 4 new SBS's start,so the table was really bursting at the seams. Anne Ida brought gfts from Norway which was a lovely surprise. I'm going to save the green fabric for when I do Hunter's Star which is Anne Ida's favourite block. I have added some photo's of the morning to the SBS album.
On Wednesday I finally managed to finish the top of my Merry Go Round quilt using the Look and Learn and Building Blocks ranges of fabric. This is from an American Jane pattern and has been a really fun quilt to do. I can't wait until next term when we will do this as a class. I made my version half the size stated in the pattern and it is plenty big enough. Yesterdays main task was cutting up fabric for kits and tomorrow I will tie and bind. I would dearly love to hand quilt this one but time is against me as I want it done for the show. Here it is on my design wall. Please excuse the crooked photo it's the photographer not the quilt :)
We had 2 new ranges arrive during the week which we had quickly ordered as soon as we knew we were going to the show. We have lot's of fabric ordered for the coming months but we needed fabric NOW. We have our fingers crossed that our order of Swell from Moda will arrive in time but if not we're not worried we have plenty to take. Lesley has been madly cutting fat quarters of the new fabrics, we would really love to make up something quickly but I don't fancy our chances at this stage. 15 days to get ready for a show "What Were We Thinking!"
Well I'm off to the shop. Our new Saturday Stitches group starts today and I'm looking forward to sitting and finishing my Twasn't Me sample I have a few buttons to sew on for holly berries. I'm wimping out on the satin stitch. Bye for Now Sandra
