What I've been working on over the Easter break...

Two years ago with the Tuesday night girls I started Journey of a Quilter Block of the month with Leanne.  Needless to say I was the remedial student and this is as far as it got

I really did enjoy the stitching, but shop and home committments got in the way and a completed Block 1 is as far as I got

So it was with some trepidation that I decided to start the Butterfly Garden quilt.  I love butterflies so how could I not.  I have a large stash of neutrals that I have collected over the years and they are going to be my backgrounds with white daisies, pink hearts, colourful embroidery and butterfiles.  Fingers crossed that it will work if not I may have another Block 1 to frame for my sewing room. I'm way behind the others in class but I'm enjoying the journey.  This is my progress so far........

I had my rows together before the last class and over the break I have traced my stitcheries and started embroidering and appliqueing.  I'm really enjoying the applique I haven't done any for a long time and had forgotten how much I really enjoyed it.  Well it's back to it for me.  I have another two days off so I may even get this block done.  I'll let you know how it go.   Cheers Sandra

On the run....

A very short post  before I go to the shop this morning to wish all that celebrate Easter a very Happy Easter.  We have been busy ordering loooots of new fabric and planning special things for the upcoming months.  New photos have been uploaded to Student's work and Leanne's House class albums.  Ciao for now.  Sandra and Lesley

New Fabrics

Morning all, in my last post I mentioned a couple of ranges that had arrived recently.  I have uploaded photos of what's left of our Swell that arrived 2 days before AQC including a bolt that arrived earlier this last week.  Also our flannel Williams Inn.  Yesterday saw the arrival of a new panel Quilting Companions and some co-ordinating bolts.  For all you cat lovers this one is very cute.  bye for now Sandra

Really short post....

Yes we are still here and fully recovered after 4 whirlwind days at AQC.  Our booth was really really tiny and we couldn't do our display the way we would have liked but did the best with what we had. I can't wait until next year for a bigger venue and hopefully we will get a double stall.

Our shop is almost back to normal.  We barely had time to unpack when more boxes of new fabric arrived, some luscious flannel and more Swell. More on that later.

Whilst at AQC I caught up with Tracey a regular Fabric Frolicer.  Tracey has finished her Fabric Frolic 2008 Quilt.  Her version is based on The Patchwork Teahouse version.

Has anyone else out there finished their quilt?  We'd love to hear from you. 

Must dash, we have social stitching this morning with the Tuesday Threads girls.  If I'm not too busy I hope to sit and sew maybe on my long time UFO Dear Jane..........cheers Sandra
