Our Christmas Stitchery Swap

Hi everyone,

How are the Stitcheries coming along?  Today Maggie & Pam dropped off their completed stitcheries, and they are just gorgeous, both completely different, sorry I can't share them with you at the moment, perhaps just before Christmas.  There is still time to be part of this swap, just complete a stitchery inside a 10" square, allow a 4" border all round, use calico or cream homespun or similar, one colour thread or several your choice of design, (anything Christmasy), add little charms or colour in and don't forget to add stabiliser on back, finally place inside a paper bag, label with your name and telephone no., and a little about your design, and drop it off at the shop or post, by about the 7th Dec., and we'll do the rest.

Christmas at Marysville

Hi Everyone,

In February this year our dear friend Marg helped organise and collect donated quilts to give out to those who lost so much during the horrific bush fires.  Once again Marg and friends would like to do something for the families of Marysville to let them know that they will not be forgotten this Christmas.   She is asking if we could make their Christmas a little brighter by donating a Christmas gift or two.  If you would like to be part of this lovely idea then just purchase or make a present , gift wrap and enclose a card with a few words to let them know we are still thinking of them, they can be for a male or female adult or a child boy or girl.    Of course Sandra & I would be happy to play a small part by being a drop off shop for collection, just indicate who the present is for when you come in.  Marg has asked if this could have a deadline of 30th November.

With all this hot weather it's a sad reminder of last February.  Hope we are all spared this summer.

Holidays

Why is it the time seems to go so quickly this time of year? I am back from my short but relaxing time (and already working on some samples for classes coming up shortly (more later on those).  Had 2 days at Appolo Bay and 4 days at Port Fairy. The weather was great, perfect for walking & sightseeing, hubby had  a helicopter ride over the Apostles, not me I wouldn't be able to look down.  Here a few photos of some shopping, I can never resist Christmas things, and there is a fantastic Shoe and Handbag shop in the town.

Also a postcard I was ordered to send to Willy (laugh) that I never got around to posting, sorry Willy. The Traveller's Guide & Souvenir opens out with pics. and text such wonderful history, it looks great laminated and framed.  I also bought a Christmas Tree (sort of) with berry pips, but a bit difficult to photograph. That and the bells came from a little patchwork and gift shop in Port Fairy. More later about workshops.
