Slowly does it......

On Saturday I ventured to the shop, after an absence of 4 weeks  due to that so unexpected pneumonia.  I didn't know what to expect of me, this sort of illness takes a long time to recover from, physically and mentally.  It can play tricks with you. You might string 3 or 4 days together when you feel pretty good, but the next day it can remind you, "hey, you're not getting rid of me that quickly".  After a shaky start, I was only going to stay a couple of hours just catching up with everything, but I stayed until closing, not working but getting the feel of things again.  I have a class tonight so I am a bit nervous as I realised it's been 2 1/2 months since I took a class.  Wish me luck won't you.  So it will be just short spurts at the shop for a few weeks.

Thank you Sandra for looking after the shop so well, it looks great, and for covering my classes, but I missed just about all of the Fabric Frolic, wasn't I lucky?  No not really,  I would much rather have been at the shop.

A big Thank You to everyone that sent me messages of support and Get Well cards, it lifted my spirits so much

Also I have to thank the one who means the most to me for his patience and care, he not only had me to look after, our dog Kimba was sick throughout my ordeal, and of course his own health worries, I don't know how he managed it, and what I would do without him.

Catching up.....

It’s the first of February and we are half way through the Fabric Frolic. It has been great to see lots of returning customers as well as new ones who are doing the Frolic for the first time.  We have had a lot of reaction to our version of “The Rainbow Connection Quilt.  The pattern for each row and the border is available free when you visit each of the 8 shops participating in the Frolic so if you have some time you will have until 5.00pm on Monday February 8 to join in the fun.

 

Lot’s of new arrivals at the shop during the past week, which I was going to blog about including new fabric, Leanne’s new quilt Down the Garden Path (we are still waiting on patterns), and Rosalie’s Advent Angels quilt top (which we have for the duration of the frolic, then it needs to go back to be quilted). 

Unfortunately time slipped away.  Lesley has been unwell again and her cold/flu has turned into Pneumonia.  Amelia (Millie) has been helping me in the shop and she has been doing a fantastic job.  We thought she may be needed for a couple of days but it now looks like she will be with me for the duration.  We wish Lesley a speedy recovery and a not too long stay in hospital.
